DMK offer and CPM democratic policies on Alagiri’s election
Chief minister M Karunanidhi’s remarks that the CPM was not reciprocating his gestures of friendship on Sunday evoked a sharp reaction from the Marxist party. Politics is not a place for bargaining, but “a battlefield for class struggle”, CPM state secretary N Varadarajan said, rejecting the DMK president’s hand of friendship and vowing to carry on its “dignified fight for the rights of the people”.
Reacting to Karunanidhi’s observation a day earlier that the CPM was spurning the DMK’s friendship offer despite him granting permission for the Left party to hold a rally and public meeting at Dindigul, Varadarajan, wondered whether allowing a public rally was an act of “magnanimity”. Whether there was an alliance or not, the CPM would make decisions on issues based on its political stand centred on public welfare, Varadarajan said.
“May be the chief minister is of the view that the CPM should have withdrawn the case (challenging Union minister MK Alagiri’s election to the Lok Sabha from Madurai) in exchange for granting permission for the public rally, the CPM leader said. However, the party would persist with the challenge through its dummy candidate in the election. Since the Tirumangalam bypoll, the DMK had made a mockery of democracy by distributing doles to voters and by stifling the opposition using police force, and the height of this trend was the atrocities committed in Madurai during the Lok Sabha elections, he alleged. CPM candidate P Mohan, who lost the election, went to the court, and after his demise, the CPM has taken up the case for the sake of democracy, Varadarajan emphasised.
The CPM has always put democracy first, he said, and recalled that his party had fought the Emergency alongside the DMK after being its strongest critic before the Emergency. And when the DMK government was dismissed, the CPM opposed it, he said. It was improper on the part of the DMK to expect CPM to avoid condemning the government’s policies or the wrong approach of the DMK just because an RS seat was given to the party, Varadarajan said.

பெரிய புராணம்.அறுபத்து மூன்று நாயன்மார்கள் வரலாறு. Periya puranam.
If one wants to know what devotion is, what will be the actions and state of devotees, and want to dwell in the great nectar of love, the best place to read Periya puranam. If you want to feel the great heights that love for the Lord, who is the pure form of love, can take then read the periya puranam not just for the sake of reading, but by putting yourself in the state of the Naayanar whose life is described as you read. Feel it. Even for a person who never ever tasted the honey of devotion, it should give a great experience. If a person does not get bhakthi even after reading Periya puranam you can say for sure that involvement was missing from his/her part.
Exclaiming the value of periya puranam king Anapaya chozhan took chekkizhar peruman on the royal elephant and he himself fanned chekkizhar with venchamaram in that big procession. What other praise is required when God Himself gave the starting word for the Periyapuranam as “ulakellam”.
It is a nector that will give you the immortal love, drink it.
It is a perennial river of love that will make the lands of your mind fertile, irrigate with it.It is a ocean that will get you pearl heaps of coveted qualities, dwell in it.
It is a sharp sword that will cut off the bonds to make you feel the bliss of freedom, hold it strong. It is a teacher that tells morals of life; make you a rock of discipline. It is a historical information resource; develop your knowledge with that.
Chekkizhar had the true knowledge, he had the best of poetic expression, he had the neutrality in his sayings, he had the devotion for the 63 devotees, above all he had the true love for God. Now I am going to tell you about some of the Nayanars.
If there are any flaws in my speech that is due to my lack of knowledge in this effort and you can be quite sure that Periya puranam will be marvelous and look for an opportunity to read it yourself.

Don’t mortgage your self-respect by taking money in the By-Elections. Tamil Speech by S.V.Ramani.
Public must take a wow in not taking money from party candidates for voting by losing their self respect. Without adopting democracy policies, ruling parties in Tamil Nadu try to win the elections by adopting unethical ways like giving money and liquor. This is not the way of democracy as already told by Arignar Anna and Rajaji.
Now In the Tiruchendur byelection on December 19, the police on Wednesday seized the vehicle of DMK candidate ‘Anitha’ R Radhakrishnan’s son, Ananda Maheswaran, as it was found carrying foreign liquor worth Rs 10 lakh. [News in Times of India 17-12-2009]
Tirunelveli superintendent of police Asra Garg intercepted the Ford Endeavour car (TN59 AP 5555) at Arumuganeri around 2am while it was going from Thoothukudi to Tiruchendur. A total of 123 bottles of foreign liquor and cases of beer were found in the car.
According to police, the driver, G Sivasankara Narayanan (37) of Thoothukudi, said that the vehicle belonged to the DMK candidate’s son and that the liquor was being taken to Thandapathu, Radhakrishnan’s native village near Tiruchendur.
The driver and four occupants of the car — D Satheesh of Thandapathu; D Ikbal; his brother Ansari and S Jainudeen of Kayalpattinam — were arrested under the provisions of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act for stocking and transporting liquor without licence. They were remanded in judicial custody by a Srivaikuntam court.
Today the way in which the by elections held in Tamil Nadu seems to be a big challenge to Indian democracy. Ruling parties take power in their hands and don’t respond to the election commission’s code of conduct and regulations for elections
Democracy will only survive if all parties follow the moral codes and people must stand bold on their self respect and vote only for the person who will work for the development of their constituency in Vandavasi and Tiruchendur.

Shri Thiagaraja Ramayanam [Kishkindha Kandam] Tamil Speech by S.V.Ramani.
Shri Thiagaraja Ramayanam [Kishkindha Kandam] Tamil Speech by S.V.Ramani.
Kishkindha Kandam is set in the monkey’s Fortress of Kishkindha. Rama and Lakshmana meet Hanuman, the greatest of monkey heroes and a adherent of Sugriva, the banished pretender to the throne of Kishkindha. Rama befriends Sugriva and helps him win over his brother Vali and regain the kingdom of Kiskindha. In exchange for the help received from Rama, Sugriva sends search parties to the four corners of the earth, only to return without success from north, east and west.
Hanuman, the monkey, quickly started along with Angada, Lt. Tara, and others to that province which Sugreeva has indicated, namely the south. Arriving at a remote place with all of those powerful monkeys, then Hanuman searched the caves and forests of Vindhya Mountains, and on their mountaintops, at impassable places, at rivers and lakes, and in stands of trees with beamy trees, also on diverse mountains, forests and trees. Though all of those brave vanara-s have searched in all directions they have not noticed the princess of Mithila and the daughter of Janaka, namely Seetha. Feeding upon unalike fruits and tubers, sojourning here and there, those invulnerable vanara-s conducted their search. The southern search party under the leadership of Angad and Hanuman, learns from a vulture named Sampati, that Sita was taken to Lanka.
Hanuman comes forward to leap the ocean at the repeated encouragement given by Jambavanta. Then he increases his physique, fit enough to take a leap, and starts declaring his capabilities, by which the other monkeys feel jubilant.
Sri Ram. Jai Ram.

Indian National Poet Maha Kavi Bharathiar. Tamil Speech by S.V.Ramani.
Indian National Poet Maha Kavi Bharathiar. Tamil Speech by S.V.Ramani.
Subramaya Bharathi was born to Chinnasami Subramanya Iyer and Elakkumi (Lakshmi) Ammaal as "Subbayya" on December 11, 1882 in the Tamil
After this early marriage, Bharathi, curious to see the outside world, left for Benares in 1898. The next four years of his life served as a passage of discovery. During this time he discovered a country in tumult outside his small hamlet. Bharathi worked as a teacher in
Bharathi joined as Assistant Editor of the Swadeshamitran, a Tamil daily in 1904. By April 1907, he started editing the Tamil weekly India and the English newspaper Bala Bharatham with M.P.T. Acharya. Bharathi started to publish his poems regularly in these editions. Bharathi participated in the historic Surat Congress in 1907, which deepened the divisions within the Indian National Congress between the militant wing led by Tilak and Aurobindo and the moderate wing. Bharathi supported Tilak and Aurobindo together with V. O. Chidambaram Pillai and Kanchi Varathaachariyar. Tilak openly supported armed resistance against the British.
In 1908, he gave evidence in the case which had been instituted by the British against V.O. Chidambaram Pillai. In the same year, the proprietor of the journal

.Bharathi's health was badly affected by the imprisonments and by 1920, when a General Amnesty Order finally removed restrictions on his movements, Bharathi was already struggling. He was struck by an elephant at Parthasarathy temple, Thiruvallikeni, Chennai, whom he used to feed regularly. Although he survived the incident, a few months later his health deteriorated and he died on September 11, 1921. Though Bharathi was a people's poet there were only fourteen people to attend his funeral.
The last years of his life were spent in a house in Triplicane, Chennai This house was bought and renovated by the Government of Tamil Nadu in 1993 and named 'Bharathiyar 'illam ' (Home of Bharathiyar).
Let us remember Barathi’s word that we will never rest, nor sleep and we will be truthful to our Mother country.
