Brahmins Targeted in Tamil Nadu.
From the Vedic period, the Hindus in India regard the Vedas as the source
of all knowledge and authority for Religion, Philosophy and ethics. The Brahmanas in India are doing temple duties, teachings of Vedas and acceptance of charity. The duties of the Brahmans and the other rules of discipline specially devised for them were difficult. The number of Brahmans was, and always has been very small in India and they are considered as pious and weaker section.
Some sixty years back, Dravidian movement was started in Tamil Nadu with no ideology but targeting only Brahmins and against worshipping and believing of Gods. This way of propaganda is still going on in Tamil Nadu for the gains of some political Leaders.
The Brahmin community people in Tamil Nadu have contributed more, by way of promoting Tamil language, Music, Dance, Drama, Science, Math’s and other subjects. They have done wonderful job in promoting Tamil language, culture and Tamilgrammer and also sacrificed their life for Indian Independence. By natural they are very simple people with great intelligence and devotion to God.
Recently the statue of E.V.Ramaswamy leader of Dravidar Kazhagam, who preached NO God theory, was broken by some unknown people. Agitating to this, the poor weaker section of Brahmin priests in Tamil Nadu, who were doing worship duties in Temples were targeted and they were attacked and their sacred thread were cut into pieces. The present Tamil Nadu Government was watching these atrocities without taking any action against the culprits for political gains. As per constitution of India all Indians are having their rights to worship their god’s and adheres to their religion. The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Government follower of Periyar is simply watching these incidents of attacking Brahmins and never warned anybody for their unruly behavior. It is told that in his personal life the Chief Minister is also having matrimonial relations with Brahmin community people. It was also talked by several people that for his own monetary benefit thro his “Sun TV” channel he is propagating thro advertisement’s to celebrate Hindu festivals and advising people to purchase gold and other articles in auspicious days. Moreover for improving large circulation of his Tamil Daily “Dinakaran” it is stated separate issues were published to preach the people to visit to the Hindu Temples and to get the blessings of the deities.
Periyar Statue was attacked by some unknown persons and no Brahmin people will do this. The Chief Minister is not having any willingness to find out the real culprits and it is to be taken that he is encouraging the attacks on Brahmin community to diverse the political situation in Tamil Nadu.
Recently some foreign people from France and Britain, having faith in Hindu rituals came to India for doing the last rituals to their close relatives, thro the Brahmin priests in Srirangam in Tamil Nadu. Even the foreign people are giving respect to the Hindu priests for their Vedic duties and customs, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu is not having any willingness to protect the Archaka's from the brutal attack.
We request the Prime Minister of India to take immediate action to protect the Brahmin Archaka’s in Tamil Nadu who were always being targeted if any political leader’s statue were broken. The minority Brahmin Archakas may be given sufficient protection to do their Temple duties, without any fear.
