Annie Besant advice to Indians not to leave their Hindhu Dharma. Tamil Speech by S.V.Ramani.

Annie Besant advice to Indians not to leave their Hindhu Dharma. Tamil Speech by S.V.Ramani.

Annie Besant, the daughter of William Wood and Emily Morris, was born in 1847. Annie's father, a doctor, died when she was only five years old. Without any savings, Annie's mother found work looking after boarders at Harrow School. Mrs. Wood was unable to care for Annie and she persuaded a friend, Ellen Marryat, to take responsibility for her upbringing.

She steadily grew away from Christianity and in 1873 separated from her husband, a Protestant clergyman. In 1879 the courts deprived her of her children because of her atheism and alleged unconventionality. As a member of the National Secular Society she preached free thought and, as a member of the Fabian society, socialism. With Charles Bradlaugh she edited the National Reformer and with him reprinted an old pamphlet on birth control, The Fruits of Philosophy, for which they were tried (1877) on a charge of immorality and acquitted.

In 1889 she embraced theosophy, becoming a disciple of Mme Blavatsky and, later, her biographer. She pursued her mission to India, where she soon became involved in nationalist politics.

She founded the Central Hindu College at Benares (Varanasi) in 1898 and in 1916 established the Indian Home Rule League and became its president. She was president of the Indian National Congress in 1917, but later split with Gandhi.

She traveled (1926-27) in England and the United States with her protégé Jiddu Krishnamurti , whom she announced as the new Messiah। President of the Theosophical Society from 1907, she wrote an enormous number of books and pamphlets on theosophy। Her works include her autobiography (1893), Four Great Religions (1897), The Ancient Wisdom (1897), and a translation of the Bhagavad Gita (1905)
Annie Besant advice to Indians was that they should not leave their Hindhu Dharma and that is the only protection for India.
Annie Besant died in India in 1933 at the age of 86.

Whether DMK M.L.A can praise Jayalalitha in the Assembly without the permission of Party leader Karunanidhi? Tamil Speech by S.V.Ramani.

Whether DMK M.L.A can praise Jayalalitha in the Assembly without the permission of Party leader Karunanidhi? Tamil Speech by S.V.Ramani.

As per the latest news in the daily papers, whether an Opposition member can praise a ruling party leader in the legislature? This was the topic of discussion on the first day of the debate on department-wise allocations in the Assembly on Wednesday 17-6-2009. When AIADMK MLA SVe Sekar began to congratulate MK Stalin on being promoted as deputy chief minister, other AIADMK members, who had walked out condemning the manner in which the DMK won the general elections, returned to the House to stall his speech.
While the MLAs surrounded Sekar and called him a ‘traitor’, AIADMK whip KA Sengottaiyan claimed that a member could speak only with his party whip’s permission. Speaker R Avudaiyappan and the treasury benches contended that the rule applied only to speeches in debates and it was the prerogative of the chair to allow any member to felicitate leaders.

Arguments and counter arguments followed for half-an-hour and finally when Sekar was allowed to speak, AIADMK MLAs walked out again. Unperturbed, Sekar, who has fallen out with the party leadership, said his wishes had to be solely considered from the viewpoint of a healthy political culture.

While AIADMK was in power, the A.I.A.D.M.K Government arrested the Kanchi seer on the cause of a murder case’s. During that time S.V. Sekar who was a devotee of Kanchi Sankaracharya Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal, betrayed him and joined A.I.A.D.M.K. Now S.V. Sekar wants to leave A.I.A.D.M.K for the causes not known to us. If Sekar wants to praise the Dy Chief Minister, he can go to his room after assembly session and praised him. He should not create a Drama in the Assembly hall.

It is also not proper for a particular party M.L.A. to speak anything in the Assembly hall without the permission of his party whip. We also want to know whether DMK M.L.A can praise Jayalalitha in the Assembly without the permission of Party leader Karunanidhi?
