Sri Ramalinga Adigalar (Arutperum Jothi) was born in Vadalur a place near Chidambaram,Tamil Nadu on 5.10.1823 as 5th son of Sri Ramaiya Pillai & Sinnammaiyar. A Siva Yogi is said to have predicted his birth to his mother saying. “You shall give birth to a son who will do good to humanity by establishing Sanmaarga.
Ramalingar states the purpose of his birth in one of his later verses; It is to correct the people of the world whose heart is full of darkness and to gain for them admission in to the sanmaarga sangam and thus make it possible for them the experience of heaven here.
The GOD in the form of LIGHT.To understand this he had shown the "JOTHI DARSHAN" inside gnana sabai on thai poosam (festival in the month of January) in vadalur. Since the day (25.1.1872) this jothi darshan is conducted, every year.
A saint who revealed the "ARUTPERUNJOTHI" to all of us is Vallal Ramalinga Adigalar.
He is the founder of SAMARASA SUTTHA SANMARGAM.
He is the founder of GNANA SABAI (vadalur).
He is the author of THIRUVARUTPA.
Removal of hungry from poor people is the main motto of Vallalar Ramalinga Adigal. Feeding the hungered people causes pleasure is of Jeevakarunya discipline.
The fundamental unity of Hindustan was achieved by religious, cultural and economic interests. All sectarian or racial difference was merged in the national sentiment. Therefore the natural divisions of Hindustan have not destroyed the fundamental unity of the country. Unity amidst diversity has been a unique feature of the Hindustan culture. “Hindu Desam” as an Institution that will benefit mankind not only in India but also in rest of the world.
