Vayalur, is a perennial center of pilgrimage for worshippers of Lord Subramaniya from all parts of India. It is one of the holiest places of Lord Muruga and is situated nine k.m. away, west of Tiruchirappalli city.Vayalur is the first Holy place, praised by St. Arunagirinathar in his Tirupugal poems (hymns).
Prasanna Venkatesa Perumal koil in Gunaseelam is located about 25kms North West of Srirangam on the Trichy- Namakkal- Salem highway on the Northern banks of Cauvery near the Upper Anaicut (Mukkombu).
Samayapuram Mariamman Temple
Samayapuram Mariamman Temple is situated on Tiruchirappalli Chennai NH 45, just 20 kms north of Tiruchirappalli town. The Maariamman Temple here, is one of the well visited shrines in Tamilnadu, dedicated to Maariamman, a manifestation of the primeval energy Shakti as the mother Goddess all Sundays, Tuesdays and Fridays hundreds of devotees throng the temple and perform Poojas.
Sri Pundarikashan Perumal Temple. Vellarai.
Vellarai means White rock. Since, this sthalam is situated 100 feet high in the top of the small mountain, which is white in colour, this sthalam is called "Thiru Vellarai"
Once when Sibi Chakravarthi has been tented here with his warriors here, a white boar crossed him. He chased It and the Boar finally went inside a hole. Saint Markandeya was under penance here and King Sibi narrated the incident that occurred here and the saint asked the king to perform a Milk Abhiseka to the hole. While doing so Lord Vishnu appeared before them. So Saint Markandeya asked Sibi Chakravarthy to bring 3700 Vaishnavites from North and build a temple here for Lord Vishnu. As requested Sibi Chakravarthy brought the 3700 Vaishnavites from the North and built the temple.
