Whether free goats, cows can help TN’s poor families? ஆடு, மாடுகள் ஏழைகள் வாழ்வை மேம்படுத்துமா?
Chief minister J Jayalalithaa on Saturday 9-7-2011 said 1,600 families would be given four goats each on September 15, birth anniversary of DMK founder C N Annadurai . She also said cows would be given to families in villages that don’t have a milk cooperative society. Around 30% of the beneficiaries will be Adi Dravidas, the chief minister said in a statement.
The government will also provide financial assistance in insuring the cows and also in transporting them from neighboring states. A special identification mark would also be provided to locate the milch cows easily, the release said.
Similarly, four to six month-old goats would also be given free to 1,600 ‘below poverty line’ families beginning September 15.
As per the scheme, about seven lakh families would benefit in the next five years. The families which have already received milch cows will not be eligible for this scheme. Orders have been issued to set up a state-level veterinary food crop development scheme for providing fodder to cows and goats, the release added.
On September 15, Jayalalithaa government will distribute some of the freebies promised in the election manifesto, including laptops for students, electric fans, mixies and grinders for women.
We must wait and see how long these free Goats and Cows will going to help the poor families of Tamil Nadu for their day-to-day earning. If it works successfully without any problem
We can really appreciate Tamil Nadu Chief Minister for her farsightedness.
